GE Dishwasher Error Code C3 — Pump Pressure Error
What this means
The C3 error means the dishwasher's wash pump isn't generating enough pressure for effective cleaning. This could be caused by a clogged filter, blocked spray arms, or a failing wash motor.
Step-by-step fix
3 stepsClean the filter
Remove the bottom rack and clean the filter assembly thoroughly. A clogged filter restricts water flow to the pump.
Food particles, labels from jars, and broken glass are common filter blockers.
Clean the spray arms
Remove both spray arms and rinse them under running water. Use a toothpick to clear each spray hole of mineral deposits or food debris.
Hold spray arms up to a light — blocked holes won't pass light through.
Check water level
Make sure the dishwasher is filling with enough water. Run a cycle and pause it after the fill stage — water should cover the heating element at the bottom.
If water level is low, check the inlet valve and supply line (see code C5).
When to call a professional
If the filter and spray arms are clean but pressure is still low, the wash motor or pump may be failing.
