Samsung Washer Error Code Sud — Excessive Suds Detected
What this means
The Sud (or Sd) error code means your Samsung washer has detected too many suds in the drum. The washer will pause and wait for the suds to dissipate before continuing. This is almost always caused by using too much detergent or using non-HE (high-efficiency) detergent in an HE washer.

The washer will automatically pause and extend the rinse cycle to reduce suds. In most cases, simply waiting 20–30 minutes will allow the cycle to complete on its own.
Don't add more water manually — the washer's automatic suds reduction is more effective.
Switch to HE detergent
If you're using regular detergent, switch to one labeled 'HE' (High Efficiency). Samsung front-load and newer top-load washers require HE detergent, which produces fewer suds.
Look for the 'HE' symbol on the detergent bottle — it's a small circle with 'he' inside.
Reduce detergent amount
Even with HE detergent, most people use too much. For a normal load, use only 1–2 tablespoons. For HE pods, use one pod per load regardless of load size.
