Samsung Washer Error Code nF — No Water Fill
What this means
The nF error code means the washer attempted to fill with water but no water entered the drum within the expected time. This is similar to the 4E error but specifically indicates that zero water was detected (whereas 4E can indicate low water flow). It's usually a supply-side issue.
Alternate codes: nF1
Step-by-step fix
3 stepsCheck the water supply valves
Make sure both hot and cold water supply valves behind the washer are fully open. Turn them counterclockwise to open.
Check if your whole house has water pressure — if other faucets aren't working either, it's a house-wide issue.
Inspect the inlet hoses
Make sure the hoses aren't kinked and the connections are tight. Disconnect the hoses and check that water flows freely when the valves are on (into a bucket).
If no water comes out of the valve with the hose disconnected, the supply valve itself may be stuck closed.
Clean the inlet filter screens
At the washer end of each hose, there's a small mesh filter screen. Remove and rinse these under running water to clear any sediment buildup.
Homes with well water are especially prone to sediment buildup in these filters.
When to call a professional
If water supply is confirmed but the washer still won't fill, the water inlet valve solenoid inside the machine is likely not opening. A technician can test and replace it.
