Samsung Washer Error Code bE — Button/Key Stuck Error
What this means
The bE error code means one or more buttons on the washer's control panel are stuck in the pressed position or the control panel is detecting continuous input. This prevents the washer from operating normally.
Alternate codes: bE2, bC2, 6E
Step-by-step fix
3 stepsClean the control panel buttons
Use a slightly damp cloth to clean around all buttons on the control panel. Dried detergent, sticky residue, or debris can cause buttons to stick. Press each button several times to free any that feel sticky.
Don't spray water or cleaner directly onto the control panel — it can seep behind buttons and cause more issues.
Release any stuck buttons
Check if any button appears physically stuck in the depressed position. Gently wiggle it to free it. If a button won't pop back up, the button mechanism may be broken.
The Power and Start/Pause buttons are the most commonly stuck buttons.
Power cycle the washer
Unplug for 2 minutes and plug back in. If the error was caused by a software glitch rather than a physically stuck button, this will clear it.
If the error appears without any buttons being physically stuck, the control panel membrane may be failing.
When to call a professional
If cleaning doesn't help and no button is visibly stuck, the control panel overlay or the control board may need replacement. This is a straightforward but somewhat expensive repair.
