Samsung Dishwasher Error Code LE — Leak Detected
What this means
The LE error code means the leak sensor in the base of the dishwasher has detected moisture. Water has escaped from the wash system into the base pan. This could be from a loose hose connection, cracked tub, or failed door seal.
Alternate codes: LC, LE1
Step-by-step fix
3 stepsCheck for visible leaks
Open the dishwasher door and look under the door seal and around the base. Pull out the bottom rack and check for pooling water. Also check underneath the dishwasher by removing the kick plate.
Place a paper towel under the dishwasher — it makes small leaks much easier to spot.
Inspect the door gasket
Run your finger along the entire rubber door gasket. Feel for tears, cracks, hardened sections, or debris stuck in the seal. Clean the gasket with a damp cloth.
Hard water deposits and food residue on the gasket can prevent proper sealing.
Tilt and drain the base pan
If water accumulated in the base pan and triggered the sensor, carefully tilt the dishwasher back slightly (with help) to drain the water. The sensor may clear once the water is removed.
Slide towels under the front of the dishwasher before tilting to catch any water.
When to call a professional
If you can't find the leak source, an internal hose or the tub itself may be cracked. This requires pulling the dishwasher out and inspecting underneath.
