The Sud error code means the LG washer's sensor has detected excessive foam in the drum. When Sud appears, the washer will pause and run additional rinse cycles to reduce the foam. Wait 20–30 minutes for the washer to work through the extra suds on its own.
Do not open the door or add more water — let the machine handle it automatically.
Run an extra rinse cycle
If the suds persist, run a Rinse & Spin cycle with no detergent to flush out remaining foam. You may need to run this 2–3 times for heavy suds buildup.
Adjust your detergent usage
Always use HE (High Efficiency) detergent in your LG washer. Use only 1–2 tablespoons per load — most people use far too much. For HE pods, use only one pod per load.
If you have soft water, you need even less detergent than the manufacturer recommends.
Clean the washer
