E25

Bosch Dishwasher Error Code E25 — Drain Pump Blocked

Moderate Fix 20–40 minutes Tools: Screwdriver, Towels

What this means

The E25 error means the drain pump itself is blocked, usually by glass shards, food debris, or a foreign object. This is different from E24 (general drain issue) — E25 specifically points to the pump being jammed.

Step-by-step fix

3 steps
1

Remove and clean the drain filter

Twist out the cylindrical filter and the flat screen below it. Check the pump cavity underneath for visible debris, glass chips, or small objects.

Broken glass from a wine glass is a very common pump blocker.

2

Check the pump impeller

With the filter removed, you can see the pump cover. On many Bosch models, this cover can be removed (twist counterclockwise) to access the impeller. Remove any debris jamming the impeller blades.

The impeller should spin freely when you move it with your finger.

3

Run a test cycle

Reassemble the filter, run a short cycle, and check that drainage is normal.

If the pump is making grinding noises, there may still be small debris in the impeller area.

When to call a professional

If the pump impeller is damaged (broken blades) or the motor won't run even when clear of debris, the pump needs replacement.
