Bosch Dishwasher Error Code E22 — Filter Clogged
What this means
The E22 error means the dishwasher's drain filter is so clogged that water can't circulate or drain properly. This is one of the simplest Bosch errors to fix — just clean the filter.
Step-by-step fix
3 stepsRemove the filter assembly
Remove the bottom dish rack. Twist the cylindrical filter counterclockwise and lift it out. Also remove the flat mesh screen underneath.
The filter has two parts — the cylindrical microfilter and the flat coarse filter. Both need cleaning.
Clean the filters thoroughly
Rinse both filters under running water. Use a soft brush (old toothbrush works well) to scrub away grease, food particles, and buildup.
Soak in warm soapy water for 15 minutes if there's heavy grease buildup.
Clean the filter housing
Before reinstalling, wipe out the filter housing area at the bottom of the dishwasher. Check for any large debris.
A tablespoon of baking soda in the housing while cleaning helps remove odors.
