Samsung Washer Error Code CE — Abnormal Water Temperature
What this means
The CE error code means your Samsung washer is detecting water temperature that doesn't match what the cycle expects. This usually means the hot and cold water supply hoses are connected to the wrong inlets, or there's an issue with your home's hot water supply.
Step-by-step fix
3 stepsCheck hot/cold hose connections
Look at the back of the washer where the inlet hoses connect. Verify that the hot water hose (usually red-marked) is connected to the hot water valve, and the cold (usually blue-marked) is connected to cold. They are commonly swapped during installation.
The inlets on the washer are labeled H and C — match them to the correct supply valves.
Test your home hot water
Run the hot water faucet nearest to the washer. If the water isn't getting hot, your water heater may be off or malfunctioning. The washer can't heat water on cold cycles if hot supply isn't working.
It may take 30–60 seconds for hot water to reach the washer's location if it's far from the water heater.
Power cycle and test
After verifying hose connections, unplug the washer for 1 minute, plug back in, and run a warm or hot water cycle to see if the error clears.
If you recently had plumbing work done, swapped connections are the most likely cause.
