Samsung Oven/Range Error Code C-10 — Communication Error Between Control Boards
What this means
The C-10 error code means the main relay control board and the user interface (display) board in your Samsung oven are failing to communicate over their serial data link. This can be caused by a loose ribbon cable or wiring harness between the two boards, a power surge that damaged one of the boards, or a failed component on either board.
Alternate codes: C10
Step-by-step fix
4 stepsPower cycle the oven
Turn off the circuit breaker for a full five minutes. Restore power. If the C-10 clears and the oven operates normally, a power glitch likely caused the communication hiccup.
If you experienced a recent power outage or storm, a surge may have corrupted the boards' memory — a reset often fixes it.
Check the communication harness
Turn off the breaker. Remove the rear cover or top panel to access the control boards. Locate the flat ribbon cable or wiring harness that connects the display board (behind the touchpad) to the relay/main board. Unplug both ends, inspect for burnt pins or cracked connectors, and firmly reseat them.
Even connectors that look seated can have a partial connection. Unplug and replug each one deliberately.
Inspect both control boards visually
Look at each circuit board for burn marks, bulging capacitors, or cracked solder joints — especially near the communication connector pins. A visibly damaged board needs replacement.
Shine a flashlight at an angle across the board — this makes hairline cracks in solder joints easier to spot.
Replace the faulty board
If the harness is good, one of the two boards is likely at fault. The display/UI board is the more common failure point. Replace it first. If the error persists, the main relay board may also need replacement.
Write down your oven model and serial number before ordering — Samsung uses different board revisions across production runs.
When to call a professional
Board-level communication errors can be tricky to isolate. If reseating the harness and replacing one board doesn't fix the issue, a technician with diagnostic equipment can determine which board is at fault without guessing.
