KitchenAid Washer Error Code F8E3 — Long Fill (Slow Water Supply)
What this means
The F8E3 error code on KitchenAid washers (may also display 'LF' for Long Fill) indicates the washer is taking too long to fill with water. The flow is detected but is too slow to fill the drum within the expected time. This can be caused by low household water pressure, partially closed supply valves, clogged inlet screens, or a partially failed water inlet valve.
Alternate codes: LF
Step-by-step fix
4 stepsOpen the supply valves fully
Check both hot and cold water faucets behind the washer. They may be partially closed, reducing flow rate.
Check household water pressure
Turn on the kitchen faucet. If water pressure seems low throughout the house, the issue is with your water supply.
Ideal water pressure for washer operation is 40–120 PSI.
Clean the inlet screens
Turn off water supply. Remove hoses from the back of the washer. Clean the filter screens at the inlet valve connections.
Replace the inlet valve if needed
If screens are clean and water pressure is good but fill is still slow, the water inlet valve may be partially obstructed internally. Replace it.
When to call a professional
If a new inlet valve doesn't fix the slow fill, a plumber should check your home's water pressure and supply lines.
