Samsung Dishwasher Error Code 3C — Wash Pump Error
What this means
The 3C error code indicates the wash pump motor has failed to operate. The wash pump is responsible for circulating water through the spray arms during the wash cycle. Without it, dishes will not be cleaned. This can be caused by a jammed pump impeller, a burned-out pump motor, or a wiring failure to the pump.
Step-by-step fix
3 stepsReset the dishwasher
Turn off the dishwasher at the circuit breaker for 5 minutes, then turn it back on. Start a new cycle.
A one-time motor stall can sometimes clear with a reset.
Check for jammed impeller
Remove the lower spray arm and filter assembly. Check for any debris (broken glass, food particles, utensils) that may have fallen into the pump area and jammed the impeller.
Small pieces of broken glass are a common cause of pump jams.
Test the wash pump motor
If no obstruction is found, access the pump motor (usually from the bottom of the unit with the dishwasher tilted). Test the motor for continuity and proper resistance with a multimeter.
A burned-out motor will show an open circuit (OL) on the multimeter.
When to call a professional
Wash pump replacement is complex and requires disassembling the bottom of the dishwasher. Professional service is recommended for pump motor replacement.
