F25

Miele Dishwasher Error Code F25 — NTC Temperature Sensor Fault

Moderate Repair 20–40 minutes Tools: Screwdriver set, Multimeter

What this means

Error F25 specifically indicates that the NTC (Negative Temperature Coefficient) sensor is reading an implausible temperature — either too high, too low, or fluctuating erratically. The control board uses this sensor to regulate heating, and if it cannot trust the reading, it will abort the heating process and display F25. This is distinct from F24 (no heat) because the issue is the sensor itself, not necessarily the heater.

Alternate codes: F 25

Step-by-step fix

4 steps
1

Power-cycle the dishwasher

Turn off the power for 5 minutes and restart. A temporary glitch in the sensor circuit can sometimes cause a false F25.

If the code returns immediately on the next cycle, the sensor is consistently faulty.

2

Locate and test the NTC sensor

Unplug the dishwasher. The NTC sensor is typically a small probe mounted in the sump area near the heating element. Disconnect its connector and measure resistance with a multimeter. At room temperature (~20°C) it should read 12–15 kΩ.

If you have access to warm water, dip the sensor in it and watch the resistance drop — this confirms the sensor responds to temperature changes.

3

Check the sensor wiring

Inspect the two wires running from the NTC sensor to the control board. Look for damaged insulation, loose connectors, or corroded pins. Reseat the connector firmly at both ends.

Moisture in the connector can cause erratic readings. Dry the connector with compressed air if it appears damp.

4

Replace the NTC sensor

If the sensor reads open-circuit, short-circuit, or a fixed value regardless of temperature, replace it. Remove the mounting clip or screw, pull out the old sensor, and insert the new one.

Ensure the replacement sensor is the correct Miele part — generic NTC sensors may have different resistance curves.

When to call a professional

If a new NTC sensor still produces the F25 error, the control board input circuit may have a problem, requiring professional diagnosis.
