F15

Miele Dishwasher Error Code F15 — Hot Water Intake Fault

Moderate Repair 10–30 minutes Tools: Thermometer, Adjustable pliers

What this means

Error F15 on Miele dishwashers indicates that the incoming water temperature exceeds the expected maximum during the fill phase. Miele dishwashers connected to a hot water supply measure the intake temperature to protect internal components and sensitive wash programs. If the hot water exceeds approximately 75°C (167°F), the machine triggers F15 as a safety precaution. This can also occur if the NTC sensor is misread or the hot-water mixing valve has failed.

Alternate codes: F 15

Step-by-step fix

4 steps
1

Check the hot water supply temperature

Run the hot water tap at the kitchen sink and measure the temperature with a thermometer. If it exceeds 60°C (140°F), reduce your water heater thermostat setting. Miele recommends a hot water supply no hotter than 60°C.

Very hot water can also damage dishwasher plastics and seals over time, beyond the immediate F15 error.

2

Switch to cold water connection

If your water heater temperature cannot be reduced, connect the dishwasher to the cold water supply instead. Miele dishwashers heat water internally and perform well on cold water. Only a few programs specifically benefit from hot water connection.

Miele dishwashers with a thermoblock can heat water to any required temperature regardless of inlet temperature.

3

Check the NTC sensor

If the hot water temperature is actually within range (below 60°C) but F15 still appears, the NTC sensor may be faulty. Test it as described for F25.

A shorted NTC sensor reads near-zero resistance, which the board interprets as extremely high temperature.

4

Power-cycle and test

After adjusting the water supply or checking the sensor, power-cycle the dishwasher and start a normal cycle.

If using cold water connection and F15 still appears, the NTC sensor is almost certainly the culprit.

When to call a professional

If the sensor needs replacement and you are not comfortable working inside the dishwasher, a technician can handle this quickly.
