Error CF on Jenn-Air refrigerators indicates a communication failure between the main control board and one of the secondary boards (user interface board, dispenser board, or temperature management board). A broken wire, corroded connector, failed board, or electrical interference can disrupt this communication. Unplug the refrigerator or turn off the breaker for 5 minutes. This fully resets all control boards and re-establishes communication links. Restore power and wait 2–3 minutes for the system to reinitialize. Check if the CF code clears.
After power is restored, the display may show '---' or dashes for a few minutes while the temperature sensors re-calibrate. This is normal.
Inspect wire harness connections
Unplug the refrigerator. Access the main control board (usually located at the back bottom, behind a cover plate) and check all wire harness connections. Then check the connections at the user interface board (behind the dispenser panel or inside the top control housing). Look for corroded pins, loose connectors, or pinched wires.
