Jenn-Air Oven Error Code F2E1 — Stuck Touch Key / Button

Moderate Repair 15–40 minutes Tools: Phillips screwdriver, Torx T20 screwdriver, Soft cloth

What this means

Error F2E1 on Jenn-Air ovens indicates the electronic control has detected a touchpad key that is stuck in the active position for longer than normal. This can be caused by a defective touchpad membrane, moisture behind the control panel overlay, a spill that seeped into the touchpad area, or a failed touch-sensitive interface board. The oven will not respond to commands while this error is active and may beep continuously.

Alternate codes: F2-E1

Step-by-step fix

3 steps
1

Try to free the stuck key

Press each touchpad button firmly and release. If a button feels sticky or depressed, press around its edges to try to free it. Clean the touchpad surface with a soft damp cloth to remove any residue.

Avoid using abrasive cleaners or spraying liquid directly on the touchpad — moisture can seep behind the membrane and make the problem worse.

2

Power reset the oven

Turn off the circuit breaker for 5 minutes. Restore power. If the error was caused by a temporary contact or moisture that has evaporated, it may clear.

If the oven is near a cooktop where steam and grease are common, the touchpad overlay may degrade faster. Consider a touchpad protector.

3

Replace the touchpad overlay or interface board

If the error persists, the membrane overlay or the interface board behind it needs replacement. Remove the console panel to access the overlay. On some Jenn-Air models, the overlay and interface board are separate parts; on others, they come as one unit. Replace as needed.

When ordering, check if your Jenn-Air model requires the overlay and board separately or as a combined assembly — ordering the wrong one delays the repair.

When to call a professional

If both the overlay and interface board have been replaced but F2E1 persists, the main EOC board may have a faulty input. A Jenn-Air technician should diagnose further.
