Open the dishwasher and remove the lower rack. Locate the cylindrical drain filter at the bottom of the tub. Twist counterclockwise to remove. Rinse both the fine and coarse mesh filters under running water, removing all food particles and grease.
Clean the filter after every 3 to 5 cycles to prevent drain issues from recurring.
Check the drain hose
Turn off the breaker. Pull the dishwasher forward to access the drain hose at the rear. Check for kinks, clogs, or crush damage. If the hose connects to a garbage disposal, make sure the disposal knockout plug has been removed.
Blow through the drain hose to check for obstructions. You should feel very little resistance.
Inspect the drain pump impeller
