Error code Err2 on Haier washers indicates the machine could not drain water from the tub within 4 minutes. The cycle will stop and the tub may remain full of water. Causes include a clogged drain pump filter, a kinked or blocked drain hose, a failed drain pump motor, or an obstruction in the household drain pipe. On Haier front-load washers, small items (coins, buttons, hair clips) commonly lodge in the pump filter and impeller.

Locate the drain pump filter access door at the bottom front of the washer. Place towels and a shallow pan underneath. Slowly open the filter cap to release trapped water. Remove the filter and clear any debris — coins, lint, small clothing items.
Haier recommends cleaning the drain pump filter at least once a month to prevent Err2.
Check the drain hose
Pull the washer out and inspect the drain hose. Ensure it is not kinked, pushed too far into the standpipe (maximum 6 inches), or clogged. Disconnect the hose and run water through it to verify it flows freely.
A drain hose that is too deep in the standpipe creates a siphon that prevents proper drainage.
Test the drain pump motor
If the filter is clear and hose is fine, listen for the pump during drain. No sound indicates a failed pump. Unplug the washer, access the pump, and test motor windings with a multimeter (should read 5–15 ohms).
If the pump hums but does not move water, the impeller is likely broken or jammed.
