Pull the washer forward and inspect the drain hose for kinks, tight bends, or clogs. Ensure it is not pushed too far into the standpipe (no more than 8 inches).
Disconnect the hose from the standpipe and blow through it to check for blockages.
Clean the drain pump filter
Open the small access panel at the lower front of the washer. Place towels and a shallow pan below. Slowly open the filter trap and let water drain. Remove any trapped debris — coins, buttons, hair pins, etc.
Expect a significant amount of water — open the filter cap very slowly to control the flow.
Inspect the pump impeller
With the filter removed, check the pump impeller. Spin it by hand — it should rotate freely. If it is jammed or the blades are broken, the pump needs replacement.
