Electrolux Oven Error Code F8 — Meat Probe / Auxiliary Sensor Fault

Easy Fix 10–20 minutes Tools: Multimeter

What this means

The F8 error code on Electrolux ovens indicates the meat probe (or auxiliary temperature sensor, depending on the model) is sending an abnormal reading. The meat probe connects via a jack on the oven wall and monitors the internal temperature of food. A damaged probe, a faulty jack, a broken probe wire, or an issue with the control board's probe input circuit can trigger this code.

Step-by-step fix

4 steps
1

Remove and reinsert the meat probe

Unplug the meat probe from the oven wall jack. Inspect the probe plug for bent pins, food residue, or damage. Clean the plug with a dry cloth. Reinsert it firmly into the jack.

Make sure the plug seats all the way in — a partially inserted probe will give erratic readings.

2

Test the meat probe

With the probe removed from the oven, use a multimeter to measure resistance across the probe's plug pins. At room temperature, a working meat probe should read approximately 50,000 ohms (50K). An open line or 0 ohms indicates a failed probe.

The resistance value varies by model. Check your oven manual for the exact expected reading.

3

Try a cycle without the probe

Remove the meat probe entirely and run a normal bake cycle without it. If the error disappears, the probe or its jack connection is the issue. If the error persists with no probe inserted, the jack or control board input may be faulty.

Some Electrolux ovens will not show F8 if the probe is removed. If the error only appears when the probe is inserted, the probe itself is the culprit.

4

Replace the meat probe

If the probe tests bad, replace it with an OEM Electrolux probe. Insert the new probe and test with a cook cycle to confirm the error is resolved.

Do not use third-party meat probes unless they are specifically listed as compatible with your Electrolux model.

When to call a professional

If the error appears with no probe inserted, the wall jack or the control board's probe circuit is faulty. A technician can inspect the internal wiring.
