Dacor Oven Error Code F7 — Stuck Function Key / Touchpad Fault
What this means
Error code F7 on Dacor ovens indicates the control board has detected a stuck or continuously activated key on the touchpad membrane panel. This happens when a button appears to be pressed for an extended period without release. Causes include a worn-out touchpad membrane with degraded contacts, moisture behind the touchpad panel, a faulty ribbon cable between the touchpad and control board, or (rarely) a control board input circuit issue. The oven may beep continuously or fail to accept new inputs.
Alternate codes: F07, Error F7
Step-by-step fix
4 stepsDisconnect power and wait
Turn off the oven at the circuit breaker. Wait 5 minutes. Restore power. If F7 appeared due to a momentary electrical glitch or moisture, the reset may clear it.
If F7 appears immediately after power is restored without pressing any buttons, the touchpad membrane has a permanent fault.
Check for moisture on the touchpad
If the oven is near a sink or produces a lot of steam, moisture may have penetrated behind the touchpad. Inspect the panel surface for water droplets or condensation. If moisture is present, leave the breaker off for several hours to allow it to dry.
Avoid spraying cleaning solutions directly on the oven control panel — liquid can seep behind the touchpad membrane.
Inspect the touchpad ribbon cable
Access the back of the control panel by removing the rear panel or front trim (varies by model). Check the ribbon cable that connects the touchpad to the control board. Ensure it is firmly seated and not damaged, kinked, or corroded.
On Dacor wall ovens, the ribbon cable can become pinched when the oven is slid into the cabinet. Check for damage along its full length.
Replace the touchpad or control board
If the touchpad membrane is worn or damaged, replace it. On many Dacor models, the touchpad and control board are sold as a combined unit. If only the touchpad is available separately, replace just that component. Otherwise, replace the complete assembly.
Before ordering, verify whether your model uses a separate touchpad overlay or an integrated touchpad/board assembly — this significantly affects cost.
When to call a professional
If you are unsure whether the touchpad or control board is at fault, a Dacor technician can test the touchpad inputs to isolate the problem before ordering expensive parts.
